Devotional: healing from anxiety

Lord, You will establish peace for us, for You have also done all our works in us. Isaiah 26:12

Our Father, YAHWEY, is a loving and compassionate leader who takes away our heavy burdens. When the weight feels crushing and our legs shake and backs bend, He asks us to come to Him, so that we are restored mentally. We are restored emotionally. We are restored spiritually in the name of Jesus Christ!

God will appoint salvation for walls and bulwarks. Open the gates, that the righteous nation which keeps the truth may enter in. Isaiah 26:1-2

Those that are righteous, who keeps the truth of God’s salvation, is protected behind His gates. Therefore, God establishes an order to how we obtain His protection.

You will keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Trust in the Lord forever, For in YAH, the Lord, is everlasting strength. Isaiah 26:3-4

We don’t receive perfect peace just because we ask. Not even because we cry due to our pain. Perfect peace is given to those who are first righteous, that allows God’s PROTECTION. Under His protection, is perfect peace not just because we are righteous. No, we have perfect peace when we are righteous AND trust in our Creator YAHWEY. Because of our genuine trust, we know even in times of trouble, times of sadness, times of confusion that God is taking care of all things for us. To keep our mind on God even in times of turmoil, is to rely on Him to resolve all issues in our life; often not when we want them to be fixed, but everything in God’s timing. It is telling God that I’ve done my part: being righteous and trusting Him. So God, now it’s Your turn to work. That is how the Lord has “done all our works in us” to bring us “everlasting peace” Isaiah 26:12.

What is anxiety?

We become anxious because we do not live in the now. What if this happens? Then I have to react like this? And if I react like this, then how is that gonna affect the situation? And so on and on the ball of anxiety continues to write the story of the future. Anxiety is vain imagination. “It is the power of God to salvation for everyone who believes… For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith to faith; as it is written, ‘The just shall live by faith.’” Romans 1:16. Therefore, the power of God and Jesus Christ is to be led by faith and not our own imaginations. This is perfect peace.

What is righteousness?

“If a man is righteous and does what is just and right— if he does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman in her time of menstrual impurity, does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment, does not lend at interest or take any profit, withholds his hand from injustice, executes true justice between man and man, walks in my statutes, and keeps my rules by acting faithfully—he is righteous; he shall surely live, declares the Lord God.” Ezekiel 18:5-9

What is unrighteousness?

“For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who suppress the truth in unrighteousness” Romans 1:18. “And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a debased mind, to do those things which are not fitting; being filled with all unrighteousness, sexual immorality, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, strife, deceit, evil-mindedness; they are whisperers, backbiters, haters of God, violent, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents, undiscerning, untrustworthy, unloving, unforgiving, unmerciful; who, knowing the righteous judgement of God, that those who practice such things are deserving of death, not only do the same but also approve of those who practice them.” Romans 1:28-32.
